Keymac is celebrating its 15th anniversary in January 2020. The company started out in Keynsham, near Bristol, in 2005 before opening its second design and manufacturing facility in Charlotte NC five years later. Since opening, both locations have supplied sleeving and cartoning systems to primarily food manufacturing companies worldwide, gaining an enviable reputation for innovative and robust machines and exceptional customer service. Keymac launches higher speed K101S Sleever

Keymac launches higher speed K101S Sleever

In response to the demand to sleeve trays and pots at higher speeds, Keymac has launched the K101S Sleever which sits between its exiting K101 (up to 60 packs per minute) and K201 (up to 120 packs per minute) machines. The new machine has the same compact footprint as the K101 but can achieve speeds up to 75 packs per minute. The machine is fully adjustable without the need for costly change parts.

Keymac develops further machines for Plactic Free packaging

Keymac in the UK and USA has extended its range of machines to run plastic free packaging. In addition to its successful K101 Sleever which sleeves apples packed in a cardboard tray, Keymac now offers Formers and Closers to form and seal cardboard packs containing soft fruit such as kiwis or tomatoes.

Keymac has launched a new Sleeving machine to package loose items of fruit and vegetables such as apples, pears, tomatoes and chicory in a cardboard tray with a cardboard sleeve. The machine has been developed in response to the requirement to dramatically reduce the amount of plastics used in packaging.

Keymac appoints new agent

In line with its planned expansion, Keymac has appointed a new agent based in Craigavon, Northern Ireland. JMC Packaging has been established for over 20 years and offers an extensive range of complimentary packaging machinery and materials. JMC will be Keymac’s exclusive agent for sales of machinery on the Island of Ireland with effect from 1 November 2019. We are very much looking forward to working with both the team at JMC and with existing and new customers.

Say hello to Ethel

Keymac USA has recently supplied a KCM2 Semi Automatic End Load Cartoner to Coda Signature Chocolate for its new facility in California. The chocolate manufacturer, who infuses its chocolate with cannabis oil, packs the product in a child resistant carton on the KCM2 machine which is known in the plant as “Ethel”. Ethel works downstream from “Lucy”, the chocolate moulding line. The two “ladies” are proving to be “a hell of a duo” commented Brien Sauchelli, Coda’s Director of Facilities. Continue reading →

Keymac KCM2 available for immediate delivery

Keymac has a KCM2 Semi Automatic End Load Cartoner available for immediate delivery. The stock machine has a 2m long load table suitable for 2 operators, a 3 head rotary carton feeder, stainless steel frame and a Nordson hot melt gluing system. The machine is fully adjustable and can be size changed in 10 minutes.

Keymac installs K101 Sleever in Belgium

Keymac’s agent, Het Packhuys, 4691 Tholen, The Netherlands, has just completed the installation of a Keymac K101F Fully Automatic Sleever to sleeve trays of potatoes at speeds up to 60 packs per minute. De Aardappelhoeve is a major grower and packer of potatoes in Belgium and recently launched a sleeved convenience product targeted at the younger generation. Keymac shortlisted for Innovative Packaging Machinery Award

Keymac is proud to have been shortlisted for the PPMA’s prestigious Innovative Packaging Machinery Award for its range of K101 Sleevers. The results will be announced on 1st October 2019. The K101 can be seen at the PPMA Total Show at the NEC from 1-3 October 2019.
